| Munir El-Kassem
begins a conference on the theme of education by delivering a
khutbah about the "informal" education that is often
neglected when discussions in this area take place. This "informal"
education, as he explains, is that education we get all the time
from those who we surround ourselves with and the influences
they have on us, consciously or unconsciously. Brother Munir
relates some ahadith that address this matter explicitly. Then,
most importantly, he outlines the criteria based on the Qur'an
and Sunnah that we can use to judge who is a good friend and
who is not. An essential tape for Muslims of all ages, but especially
those youth attending public schools and their parents. |
