| In the first khutbah, Shafayat Mohamed addresses the much-neglected ediquette of seeking permission before meeting someone in their home or office. Unfortunately many Muslims are guilty of such neglect because of their lack of courtesy or consideration, or their simple ignorance of the commands contained within the Qur'an and Sunnah. Islam being a complete way of life, this matter is explicitly addressed and the Prophet (P) exemplified great discipline and respect in this regard. Maulana Shafayat looks into this affair and reminds the audience to embody the manners that are expected of a Muslim. He also looks at how this etiquette applies to the use of the phone today. |

"A lot of us who had no respect for people's home are forced to be Muslims in America because we have to call before we go." "We break these laws of the Qur'an because we disrepect our brothers, we do not consider their integrity. But you know we will do that for President Clinton... we wouldn't walk in any government offices without permission." "We should not wait for the Westerners to teach us these manners, we should learn it from Rasoolullah and from the teachings of the Qur'an." |
